FAQs

  • Because each U.S. state sets its own rules for licensure and technical training hours, a massage license earned in Hawaii (especially via the apprenticeship route) may not automatically be recognized in another state. If you’re planning to relocate and practice outside Hawaii, you should consider going through a school-based program in a state recognized by your intended future jurisdiction.

  • Trainees do not receive hourly wages during training but may accept client tips during their supervised practicum phase.

To qualify for licensure as a massage therapist in the State of Hawaii, apprentices must complete no less than 570 hours of training. The program must be completed in not less than six months and not more than one year.

  • 1-3 trainees are accepted per intake to preserve the quality of one-on-one mentorship. We could have up to 10 but we want a more intimate set-up that gives you the attention you deserve.

  • Graduates who align with our values and meet performance expectations are offered employment for a minimum of one year following licensure. This ensures a smooth transition into professional practice and the chance to grow your own client base. Continued growth opportunities include advanced training, dual licensure, and leadership pathways within Remedy.
