Pre + Post Wax tips

Waxing and sugaring are amazing for smooth, long-lasting results, but the way you prep and care for your skin makes all the difference. At Remedy, we want your service to feel comfortable, effective, and irritation-free. Here’s your easy before + after guide.

✨ Before Your Appointment

Exfoliate Gently
Use a mild scrub or exfoliating glove 24–48 hours before to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.

Skip Moisturizers & Deodorant
On the day of your appointment, keep the area clean and dry. Lotions, oils, or deodorants can stop the wax or sugar from adhering properly.

Hair Length Matters
For the best results, hair should be about ¼–½ inch long (think the size of a grain of rice). Too short, and the wax won’t grab; too long, and it may be more uncomfortable.

Stay Hydrated
Drinking water helps skin stay resilient and less sensitive during your service.

Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol
Both can make skin more reactive. Skip them before your appointment to keep sensitivity low.

✨ After Your Appointment

Soothe the Skin
Apply aloe vera, witch hazel, or a fragrance-free moisturizer to calm redness and irritation.

Avoid Heat & Sweat
Skip hot showers, saunas, workouts, and sun exposure for at least 24 hours. Open pores are more prone to irritation and bacteria.

Wear Loose Clothing
Breathable fabrics (like cotton) prevent friction that can cause breakouts or ingrowns.

Skip Deodorant for 24 Hours
Avoid deodorant right after underarm waxing/sugaring. It can clog pores and sting. Aloe vera gel can be a natural alternative.

Exfoliate Regularly
After 48 hours, gently exfoliate every 2–3 days with a sugar scrub, dry brush, or mild cloth to keep ingrowns away.

Moisturize Daily
Light, non-comedogenic lotion will keep your skin smooth and hydrated between visits.
